AFIRE’s Outreach and Interpretation Program (O & I ) now called Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP) has served over 300 vulnerable sectors of our community. The impact of this valuable and unique service to our community is immeasurable especially to those who have been at the edge of hunger, illness, and homelessness.  As you know, the success has been made possible by the high spirit of volunteerism in AFIRE.

In this Bawa’t Pilipino Mahalaga training, you will learn how to broaden the public benefits outreach to more needy kababayans. You will also learn effective techniques on outreach and community organizing work which you can immediately apply to your organization. We invite you to join us in a Volunteer’s Training on November 7, 2009,  10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the CIRERA Express , 5232 N. Western Ave., (1 block north of Foster) Chicago, IL 60625.  Lunch and materials will be provided.

The training is replicated and compressed from the two-days  training provided by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugees Rights  (ICIRR) to AFIRE staff which were designed and conducted by the Shriver Center   on Poverty Law of Chicago and Health Outreach Partners, California.  Attached is the Training Agenda.

You will get more if you complete the whole training. In the event that you cannot stay the whole time we would still welcome your presence and commitment to volunteer. Please call Sally Richmond at  (773) 410-0964 to confirm your attendance.
