The Community Service Committee would like to thank everyone who helped make the 9th Annual NAAAP Chicago Toy Drive a success. We were able to raise more than $1300 in donations and provide 84 underprivileged children with a toy. That toy might have been the only gift these children received, and it gave them a chance to share in the joy of the season.
This year’s recipients were Korean American Community Services (KACS) and Muslim Women Resource Center (MWRC). KACS serves more than 7,000 people in their community by providing educational, legal, health and social services. MWRC was founded to help immigrant and refugee Muslim women integrate into mainstream American society, but has since expanded to help immigrants and refugees from all walks of life.
Once again, thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you in 2012. We are always looking for volunteers as well as feedback. Please feel free to attend any one of our Committee meetings (details found on the event page) or contact the Community Service Committee Chair at harry_riepl@naaapchicago.org.
Sincerely,
The Community Service Committee
