Community Service

The Community Service program of NAAAP-Chicago promotes opportunities for members and non-members to reach out and contribute to the Asian American community and to nonprofit organizations that provide services. Activities consist of participating in volunteer projects, conducting fundraising events or raising awareness of various community issues. Through volunteering, our participants not only make a difference in the community, but they also develop networking, leadership and team-building skills.

Some examples of the volunteer events include:

  • Collecting holiday toys and donating them to area youth centers
  • Assisting kids with arts & crafts projects
  • Serving, sorting or packing food at a food pantry or homeless shelter
  • Conducting a voter registration drive
  • Cleaning a neighborhood park
  • Painting walls of a community center
  • Beautifying the shores of Lake Michigan by picking up trash
  • All of these events are accomplished with the help of a team of volunteers. If you are someone who is energetic, compassionate and possess great people skills and likes to plan, coordinate or participate in the events, sign up here! Contact us if you are interested in learning more about how to join this team, email us.
